Suspect Nabbed In Drive-By Long Island Shooting

A 20-year-old suspect has been charged after a man was injured in a drive-by shooting on Long Island.

The shooting happened on Saturday, Feb. 22 at approximately 3:40 p.m. in Bay Shore.

Suffolk County Police Third Squad officers responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired and found the victim shot in front of 89 2nd Ave. 

The man was standing in front of a house when a car pulled up and multiple shots were fired, striking the man, police said.

On Monday, Feb. 24, Suffolk County Police announced a Lindenhurst man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Kenny Walker has been charged with second-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment.

In addition, he was charged with endangering the welfare of a child as there was a child in the vicinity at the time of the shooting, police said.

Walker is due to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries
